Half House Homestay Lighting Design

About an hour and a half drive from Shanghai and Suzhou lies a small village called Jijiadun. Once a typical Jiangnan water town, the village saw its population gradually decline over time, leading to increasing hollowing-out. In response, the local township government invited a professional team to redevelop and revitalize the area. To breathe new life into the village, Jijiadun leveraged its original rural scenery and introduced cultural and creative industries, attracting a group of “new villagers” from the city. This effort has transformed the village into an ideal rural living community. Our project, Jiangnan Half House Homestay, is located here. The homestay is situated near the entrance of the village, with its site surrounded on three sides by a small river and facing farmland not far away.

Heyuan City Primary and Secondary School Science Education Hall

Located in Heyuan City, this facility is designed to promote scientific education and awareness among primary and secondary school students. It provides an interactive and engaging environment where students can explore various scientific concepts through hands-on exhibits and educational programs. The center aims to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for science, preparing students for future academic and career opportunities in STEM fields.

Hangzhou Olympic Experimental Primary School and Kindergarten

Located adjacent to the Xixing Bridge, near the “Lotus Bowl”—the main venue for the 2022 Asian Games—and along the route from Hangzhou Airport into the city, this educational facility faces several design challenges. Surrounded by high-rise residential buildings and elevated highways, the site has an irregular boundary oriented at approximately a 40-degree angle to the southeast, with limited frontage for the campus entrance.

The design team overcame these challenges through a unique layout that not only meets the basic functional requirements of the school but also introduces a new spatial dimension. This innovative approach allows the new space to interact and blend seamlessly with the existing teaching areas, creating limitless functional and spatial possibilities. By doing so, the design ensures that the school can adapt to the changing needs of future primary and secondary education, providing children with a vibrant and inspiring “dream-chasing stage” for their growth.

Netherlands Zaans Medical Center

Zaans Medical Center is the first lean hospital in the Netherlands. It is a compact building that makes efficient use of every square meter. Its specialized medical care approach and personal touch strengthen each other. The designers have integrated architecture, urban living, landscaping, and interior design into a cohesive whole. The routes inside the building are clear, and there is ample natural light, creating an environment that feels more like a health resort than a traditional hospital.
