Crafting an elegant, comfortable ambiance with tailored lighting for lobbies, rooms, and dining areas.

Dalian’s first international luxury hotel brand, the Four Seasons Hotel Dalian, has opened in the Donggang Business District. The hotel is located in a 46-story building with a planned land area of 13,900 square meters and a total construction area of 127,253 square meters. The hotel occupies floors 5-6 and 23-42 of the 220-meter-tall tower, offering approximately 250 guest rooms and suites.

The lighting design concept for the guest rooms focuses on creating a relaxing yet sophisticated environment through lighting. All main lights in the guest rooms use a consistent 2700K warm color temperature, while linear lights are used under the bed and in cabinets to provide soft ambient lighting, creating a layered lighting effect.

The lighting in the guest room’s walk-in closet is integrated into the cabinet structure, with no exposed light fixtures. This ensures effective lighting while giving the closet a cleaner and more refined appearance.

The guest room bathrooms feature warm lighting, creating layers of light and shadow through elements such as wooden grilles, and allowing for regional control of light intensity, thus enabling guests to feel more relaxed in the bathroom space.

The lighting in the guest room minibar balances the aesthetic appeal of the beverages and tableware with the practical need for illumination when retrieving items. The lights are integrated into the cabinet structure, casting a soft glow.

The lighting in the hotel’s elevator lobbies and corridors maintains the same warm color temperature as the guest rooms, with concealed LED strips and wall sconces used to distinguish the elevator door areas; the corridor lighting uses projection techniques to ensure there are no dark spots.

Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake is located at the intersection of a Lingnan oasis and serene lakeside scenery. The hotel features 141 spacious guestrooms and suites, along with 18 private villas, and offers a comprehensive range of luxury amenities, including a fitness center and spa, yoga studio, library, meeting rooms, lounge, and restaurants.

For this lighting design project, we were committed to creating a resort hotel that seamlessly integrates with nature while embodying the unique cultural characteristics of Lingnan. By combining lighting with local cultural elements, the design enhances the spatial narrative. As night falls, warm amber lighting interacts with the reflections of trees and foliage on the lake surface, creating a tranquil atmosphere that brings guests a sense of relaxation and comfort for both body and mind.

From the early design stage, we developed tailored lighting solutions for various representative spaces. Based on the specific functions of each scene, different types of lighting, color temperatures, and combinations were applied, ensuring overall harmony and complementing the architectural language of Lingnan style.

The site of this project is located in the northern part of Bukhara, Uzbekistan, adjacent to the historically significant transportation and trade hub of the medieval period—the Samarkand Gate. During the Soviet era, this area was an industrial center, home to numerous industrial enterprises and a bus station. In 2010, the Bukhara City Council decided to relocate all industrial enterprises to the outskirts of the city to restore its historical appearance and promote the development of tourism and handicraft industries.

About an hour and a half drive from Shanghai and Suzhou lies a small village called Jijiadun. Once a typical Jiangnan water town, the village saw its population gradually decline over time, leading to increasing hollowing-out. In response, the local township government invited a professional team to redevelop and revitalize the area. To breathe new life into the village, Jijiadun leveraged its original rural scenery and introduced cultural and creative industries, attracting a group of “new villagers” from the city. This effort has transformed the village into an ideal rural living community. Our project, Jiangnan Half House Homestay, is located here. The homestay is situated near the entrance of the village, with its site surrounded on three sides by a small river and facing farmland not far away.
